Suunto Branch Volunteer of the Year 2010 award!

8th February 10 Nominate your club’s unsung hero....
...for a Suunto Branch Volunteer of the Year 2010 award!

Back for a second year, the search is now on for 30 Volunteers of the Year in BSAC's initiative designed to reward our branches' 'unsung heroes'. And we are now asking all our branch members to submit a nomination.

Following on from the successful launch of the initiative in 2009, The Suunto Branch Volunteer of the Year 2010 award aims to recognise the significant and invaluable contribution our many volunteers make to both BSAC and branch diving. Sponsored by Suunto, we have a D6 computer, worth $1,000, to award to each of our 30 Volunteers of the Year, selected from around the BSAC regions.

In additional to the regional winners, there will also be an overall Volunteer of the Year 2010 winner selected, who will be awarded the prestigious Jonathan Crusher Award. To nominate, complete the online nomination form - closing date for completed nomination forms is 15th November 2010 http://www.bsac.com/core/core_picker/download.asp?id=17314

Did you know….any BSAC member can nominate a fellow member for Volunteer of the Year?

So many of BSAC's branch members work tirelessly for the benefit of their club and fellow members and so we would now like members to nominate their own branch's unsung hero or heroine. Any current BSAC branch member is eligible for nomination.

We are looking for members who have made an exceptional contribution to your club and reasons to nominate a fellow branch member could include:

Going beyond the call of duty to make things happen
Outstanding and dedicated service to the branch
Fundraising, securing grants, recruitment of members
Support, mentoring and encouragement of trainees
Training, instructor development, dive organisation
Individual actions and or/support that makes a real difference to the branch diving experience
You can read more about last year's winners and nominators and then nominate your own 2010 unsung hero at www.bsac.com/volunteer2010

Closing date for entries is 15th November 2010
