Answer
How do I join the Club?

Come along to a meeting and join, or complete the form available as a download and send to the club's mailing address and organise an funds transfer of the membership fees or pay cash to the membership officer.

When and where are your meetings?

We meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Maori Chief Pub in South Melbourne (117 Moray Street). Anyone is welcome!

What dive shop is your club associated with?

The Bass Strait Aquatic Club is a non-profit, club of divers and volunteer instructors.

However, we are fortunate in that The Scuba Doctor, a dive shop based in Rye, Victoria, lets us use their premises as our club headquarters.

Who runs the club?

The friendly volunteer members of the Bass Strait Aquatic Club.

Do you own your own boat?

No, most club boat dives use the facilities of commercial charter boat operators or private boats of club members or other Victorian clubs.

Do you teach scuba diving?

Yes.

You can start as an absolute beginner with a 'Try-Dive' and go on to take the entry-level Ocean Diver course. From there you can use the BSAC diver training programme to progress through a framework of qualifications at your own pace.

BSAC offers five internationally recognised recreational and technical diver grades, from Ocean Diver to First Class Diver.

You can even go move into the Instructor Training Programme and end up with professional instructor qualifications recognised world wide.

How much does membership cost?

Club membership is $20 plus the British Sub Aqua Club membership (which is approximately $80 but varies with the exchange rate).

What can I do to help BSAC?

Well, the Bass Strait Aquatic Club can accept donations, and for any reason! Please email us and let us know what is available, and what you need in return.

However, the very best way that you can help is to come scuba diving with us. There is no other way for an organisation to grow than to have people join in the fun!
